Application and supporting materials will ONLY be accepted electronically (excluding official transcript). Assemble the documents as PDF files (only PDF files will be accepted) with the following format:

  1. Two letters of recommendation (one must come from current/former professor)

  2. Resume/CV

  3. Letter from Registrar verifying enrollment and expected graduation date

Basis of Awards

Piedmont Black Nurses Association Scholarship Committee will consider the following factors when choosing scholarship recipients:

  • Scholastic achievement (must demonstrate potential to successfully complete program)
  • A minimum of one semester remaining in school (not including this semester)
  • Resident in North Carolina
  • Plans to work in North Carolina
  • Has financial need
  • Actual or potential contribution to the nursing profession
  • Character
  • Participation in student and/or community activities
  • Other factors as determined by the School of Nursing

Scholarship

General Information

  • PBNA Scholarships are awarded without regard to race, sex, religion, and/or age.

  • Efforts are made to distribute scholarships throughout the state of North Carolina to all types of nursing programs.

  • Completed application and information must meet established deadlines.

  • Recipients who withdraw from school will be responsible for notifying the Piedmont Black Nurses Association immediately at piedmontblacknursesassociation@gmail.com
